Community Shares of Greater Cincinnati is proud to announce a new community conversation around social and economic justice, environmental justice, and animal welfare with the launch of the Margaret Fuller Lecture Series. This quarterly series of virtual panel discussions on various topics within the three primary mission fields of Community Shares are aimed at fostering a community dialogue around hard-to-discuss topics.
Our second installment premiered Jan. 20 focusing on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at several major Cincinnati area employers including Procter & Gamble, Fifth Third Bank, University of Cincinnati, GE Aviation, and more. Vasanthi Chalasani
Vasanthi Chalasani is Vice President of Next Generation Shares Services in IT/Global Business Serices at Procter & Gamble and leads P&G’s Asian Pacific Association.
She grew up in India, London, and the United States, joining P&G in 1999.
She serves as Innovation Alliance Leader in her industry forum, an advisory board member for SSON, Board of Trustees member at the Multiple Sclerosis National Society, Council President of Lord of Life Lutheran Church, and Planning Committee Lead for “Teal Power Shoot Out” for ovarian cancer awareness in Cincinnati schools.

Stephanie Smith
Stephanie A. Smith serves as senior vice president and chief inclusion and diversity officer at Fifth Third Bank.

She is responsible for creating and executing a holistic internal and external strategy, that supports employees and partners with diverse suppliers. Her oversight includes the Bank’s eight enterprise and 70 regional business resource groups, 14 regional inclusion councils, Project Search, supplier diversity, and all other enterprise inclusion and diversity programs, strategic initiatives and efforts related to environmental, social and governance reporting. In her previous role as director of supplier diversity, Stephanie oversaw more than a 900% increase in Fifth Third’s spending with diverse suppliers. Over more than 20 years, she has also worked in the Bank’s Community and Economic Development and its Commercial divisions, as well as in the Foundation Office. In 2019, Stephanie was recognized as one of Savoy Magazine’s Most Influential Women in Corporate America. In 2020, she was recognized by the National Diversity Council as one of 2020’s Top 50 Chief Diversity Officers, and Career Mastered Magazine recognized her efforts with the 2020 Career Mastered Diversity Leadership Award. In 2021, she was recognized as a YWCA Career Woman of Achievement. Under her leadership Fifth Third has been named one of America’s top corporations for women-owned companies by the Women’s Business Enterprise Council and was named to the Best of the Decade list by Minority Business Network magazine. Stephanie earned a bachelor’s degree in communication from Wright State University and a master’s degree in community planning from the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning. Bleuzette Marshall, Ph.D.
Bleuzette Marshall is the Vice President for Equity, Inclusion & Community Impact at the University of Cincinnati.

In this role, she manages the university’s compliance programs related to Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action, and Title IX; oversees the university’s diversity and inclusion efforts; co-chairs the President’s Diversity Council; provides strategic leadership for the recruitment, retention, and advancement of diverse talent (students, faculty, and staff); assists with supplier diversity efforts; serves as a resource to benchmark trends and promote best practices; and builds partnerships in the broader community. She administers the university’s equity and inclusion incentive grant process to award colleges and units with funds to enhance innovative practices to build a more inclusive university. In addition, she created and is the convener of the region’s CDO Roundtable with corporations, community organizations, colleges, health systems, and legal firms to serve as a resource and think tank to advance diversity and inclusion efforts within the region. Previously, she was the Senior Director of Development for Provost & Student Affairs at the UC Foundation. Under her leadership, $20 million was raised for university-wide scholarships and programs, and she developed the Onyx & Ruby Society – an affinity based giving program for African American alumni. She has worked diligently to design and implement programs to promote diversity and aid in the retention of students. She co-created the Brothers And Sisters Excelling (BASE) Mentoring Program, organized the Tyehimba Graduation Celebration, facilitated a series of workshops on the freshman year experience, and served as the co-chair of the university-wide diversity conference. She was also an adjunct instructor for a Strength through Cultural Diversity course at Miami University (Oxford). In addition, Bleuzette has served as an advisor to several student organizations including Latinos en Accion, Cincinnati Women in Excellence & Spirit Together (CWEST), and the Senior Class Officers. Currently, she is the advisor for Sigma Phi women’s honorary. Bleuzette is an alumna of the University of Cincinnati and its prestigious Darwin T. Turner Scholars Program. She earned a B.A. in Psychology, a M.Ed. in Educational Foundations, and a Ph.D. in Educational Studies. She is also the founding president of the UC African American Alumni Affiliate (4A). During her tenure, an All-Class Reunion was implemented in conjunction with Homecoming that reconnected eight decades of graduates. Within the community, she was the project manager for the Greater Cincinnati International Hall of Fame and an educational consultant to White Hat Management. Currently, she serves on the boards of the Girl Scouts of Southwestern Ohio and Public Media Connect. She is also a member of the Cincinnati Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, the Greater Cincinnati Hispanic Scholarship Fund Celebración, and St. James A.M.E. Church - Covington. Tim’m West
Tim’m T. West is an educator, poet, youth advocate, and hip-hop artist who has spent decades traveling the nation…
speaking about issues at the intersection of race, gender, sexuality and social justice. A graduate of Duke University (BA), the New School for Social Research (MA) and Stanford University (MA), he is the author of several books and hip-hop projects and is widely anthologized. He has also appeared in multiple documentaries at the intersection of hip hop and black masculinity. A seasoned educator, Tim’m served as inaugural faculty Oakland School for the Arts, impacted educational outcomes as an English teacher and basketball coach at Cesar Chavez Public Charter High School for Public Policy, taught at Humboldt State University and Houston Community College and also served as director of youth services at Chicago’s Center on Halsted. A board member of the LGBTQ Institute located at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights in Atlanta where he is a DEI consultant, Tim’m was named one of 31 icons during LGBT History Month in October 2015. Tim’m principally leads Teach for America’s National LGBTQ+ Community Initiative, advancing safer and braver classrooms for LGBTQ educators and students in grades PreK-12. An Upward Bound alum and former admissions officer, he continues to work as an expert in the selective admissions landscape while supportive of many college access and equity programs in Cincinnati. Tim’m is very active as a graduate of School Board School, where he serves on their board. He is also a board member for Wordplay Cicy, chair of Chase Elementary LSDMC, founder and board member of Cincinnati Black Pride and on the board of the Buckeye Flame.

Kyle Inskeep
Kyle Inskeep joined the Local 12 News team in June 2018. He anchors the 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts with Paula Toti.
Prior to moving to Cincinnati, Kyle worked as a morning reporter/fill-in anchor for FOX59 in Indianapolis for three years. While there he covered the 2017 Presidential Inauguration, the 100th running of the Indy 500 and the sentencing of former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle. During his first year out of college, Kyle worked for NBC News in Washington, D.C. He was selected as the 2012 Tim Russert Fellow.
